F&B and hospitality industry embracing self-serve technology
Recently McDonald’s deployed self-service Kiosks called ‘Create Your Own Taste’. Niagara Falls introduced self-serve kiosk in its ‘Cave of the Winds’ Café that enables customers to place orders and make payment at a self-serve food ordering kiosk. Disney introduced MagicBand, a wearable digital wristband, which acts as a ticket, hotel key, credit card and tracker all in one. Advancements in technology have benefitted the F&B and hospitality industry by improving productivity, customer service and revenue.
Many businesses, which have adopted technology, are realizing its potential not only in enhancing customer service but also increasing revenue. A recent announcement by Taco Bell said their average digital order is 20% higher than the traditional orders placed through human cashiers. Chili’s reported a similar increase in dessert orders after installing self-service tablets. Orbit Café at Kennedy Space Center saw an 18% rise in order value for orders placed through self-serve kiosks. A few of the places also witnessed more orders being processed, lower time taken to process orders and reduction in customer waiting time.
An integrated solution is one that includes various components like self-serve kiosk, cash register, kitchen display system, order announcement screens, etc. that are connect to each other and work as a single enterprise solution. All devices are connected and managed centrally through a Content Management System (CMS). A few of the features and benefits of such an integrated solution are customer friendly user interface, POS integration, secure payment processing (Cash & Card), multiple hardware options, intelligent kitchen load balancing, real time analytics & reporting, major languages supported, fully customizable with your theme.
